meet Tiana Takenaga

Tiana began her journey with Bedrock Fiduciaries in early 2021. Since the beginning she has been passionate about helping relieve families and individuals from the demanding and overwhelming circumstances life can present. After a year of serving Bedrock clients in an administrative capacity, Tiana decided to begin her own journey to become a licensed fiduciary. She is currently completing her coursework at California State University, Fullerton and is supplementing that education as a student member of Professional Fiduciary Association of California (PFAC). Her desire is to use her license to better serve current clients and to help Bedrock Fiduciaries grow within the South Bay – and beyond. As a younger professional in the field, she especially hopes to help clients who are planning for their future or those with longer-term needs. As a South Bay native Tiana is eager to serve the community she grew up in.

Tiana graduated from Columbia University in New York City. She began her career in digital marketing before being approached by Gene and making the transition to fiduciary services.

Tiana Takenaga's Story

Thanks for visiting. I'm Tiana Takenaga, and I'd like to tell you my story.

After getting my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Columbia University, I returned to Los Angeles to begin working in digital marketing. Although the experience was exciting and engaging, I questioned whether this was the right career path for me. I met Gene playing tennis in the South Bay during my summers home from college several years ago. When he began working on founding Bedrock Fiduciaries, he mentioned his interest in eventually bringing me on to the team. Like most people, I had never heard of a fiduciary - but as he explained the role and responsibilities in more detail, I knew it would be a great fit for me. When the timing and opportunity presented, I joined Bedrock in an administrative capacity. As a highly organized Ivy League student-athlete graduate, I found that supporting Gene with the clerical needs of clients was an easy and natural transition for me.

After one year with Bedrock, I decided that this was a career path that I could see myself growing in. At that point I decided to begin my education to become a licensed fiduciary at California State University, Fullerton. As important as the desire to be of service is in this field, it is insufficient without the critical foundation of education in fiduciary management and a working understanding of the probate code.

On a personal note, I come from a tight-knit family. I had a close family member with a terminal heath diagnosis that required continuous care. Also, as my grandparents age they are starting to rely on me to coordinate their day-to-day management. Through these experiences, I saw first-hand how stressful and time-consuming navigating healthcare, court systems, social services, and financial institutions could be. Like Gene, I wondered what would happen to individuals who weren’t privileged with a large support system, or if family members were too far to help with the daily challenges of life. I’m excited to become licensed in the near future and enter the field as a younger professional. I’ll have the opportunity to help Bedrock Fiduciaries with clients who have longer term or future needs. I have already met clients who appreciate knowing that I will be in service to their families for decades to come.

In my free time if I’m not with family you can find me cheering on the Lakers, chasing my dog or chasing a ball on the tennis court.
