meet Tiana Takenaga
Tiana joined Bedrock Fiduciaries in early 2021, bringing with her a deep commitment to supporting individuals and families through times of transition and uncertainty. Her personal experience with complex medical issues and the challenges of incomplete estate planning within her own family shaped her interest in fiduciary work. These experiences led her to pursue a career grounded in empathy, integrity, and reliability.
After a year of working in a support role, Tiana began the process of becoming a licensed fiduciary. A graduate of Columbia University, she became a California Licensed Professional Fiduciary (CLPF) and a National Certified Guardian (NCG) in 2024.
Tiana takes pride in serving as a steady, principled advocate - balancing impartiality with compassion. As a younger professional in the field, she particularly hopes to help clients planning for the long term or navigating early stages of incapacity or transition. A South Bay native, she is especially committed to serving the community she knows so well
As a co-owner of Bedrock Fiduciaries, Tiana is actively involved in the firm’s operations and long-term planning. She and Gene collaborate closely on every case, ensuring continuity and shared understanding. Should the need ever arise for Tiana to take a leading role, she would be ready to step in seamlessly, with no learning curve regarding any client’s situation.
Reflecting on her approach, Tiana shares: "While my strength lies in being neutral and firm, guided by principles more than emotions, my personal experiences have taught me that compassion does not compromise fairness."

Tiana Takenaga's Story
After earning my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Columbia University, I returned to Los Angeles and began my career in digital marketing. It was fast-paced and creatively engaging, but I quickly realized it wasn’t the long-term path I was looking for
I first met Gene playing tennis in the South Bay during summers home from college. Even as he was founding Bedrock Fiduciaries, he mentioned the idea of having me join the team. Like many people, I had never heard of a licensed fiduciary - but as he described the role and its responsibilities, something clicked. It felt like a natural fit.
When the timing was right, I joined Bedrock in a support role. Having been a highly organized Ivy League student-athlete, supporting Gene and our clients came naturally. After the first year, it became clear that this was more than just a job - it was a career I wanted to grow in. I enrolled in the Fiduciary Management program at Cal State University Fullerton and began the path toward licensure. While compassion and a desire to serve are vital in this work, they must be grounded in a solid understanding of fiduciary responsibilities and probate law.
My passion for this work is deeply personal. I’ve seen how overwhelming life can become after a serious diagnosis or the loss of a loved one - especially when there’s no clear plan in place. I’ve watched people I care about struggle to manage finances, navigate healthcare systems, and deal with legal and bureaucratic hurdles, often all at once. Coming from a close-knit family, I often wondered: what happens to those who don’t have that kind of support?
As a licensed professional, it’s my personal mission to ensure my clients feel supported and cared for during life’s most challenging times. I’m especially honored to be part of Bedrock’s long-term vision, working with clients who are planning or need lasting care. I’ve already had the privilege of connecting with clients who’ve expressed how reassuring it is to know I’ll be here to support them - and their families - for years to come.
When I’m not working or with family, you’ll probably find me cheering on the Lakers, chasing my dog or chasing a ball on the tennis court.
Tiana Takenaga's Story
Thanks for visiting. I'm Tiana Takenara, and I'd like to tell you my story.
After getting my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Columbia University, I returned to Los Angeles to begin working in digital marketing. Although the experience was exciting and engaging, I questioned whether this was the right career path for me. I met Gene playing tennis in the South Bay during my summers home from college several years ago. When he began working on founding Bedrock Fiduciaries, he mentioned his interest in eventually bringing me on to the team. Like most people, I had never heard of a fiduciary - but as he explained the role and responsibilities in more detail, I knew it would be a great fit for me. When the timing and opportunity presented, I joined Bedrock in an administrative capacity. As a highly organized Ivy League student-athlete graduate, I found that supporting Gene with the clerical needs of clients was an easy and natural transition for me.
After one year with Bedrock, I decided that this was a career path that I could see myself growing in. At that point I decided to begin my education to become a licensed fiduciary at California State University, Fullerton. As important as the desire to be of service is in this field, it is insufficient without the critical foundation of education in fiduciary management and a working understanding of the probate code.
On a personal note, I come from a tight-knit family. I had a close family member with a terminal heath diagnosis that required continuous care. Also, as my grandparents age they are starting to rely on me to coordinate their day-to-day management. Through these experiences, I saw first-hand how stressful and time-consuming navigating healthcare, court systems, social services, and financial institutions could be. Like Gene, I wondered what would happen to individuals who weren’t privileged with a large support system, or if family members were too far to help with the daily challenges of life. I’m excited to become licensed in the near future and enter the field as a younger professional. I’ll have the opportunity to help Bedrock Fiduciaries with clients who have longer term or future needs. I have already met clients who appreciate knowing that I will be in service to their families for decades to come.
In my free time if I’m not with family you can find me cheering on the Lakers, chasing my dog or chasing a ball on the tennis court.
